Welcome

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Thomas D. Pellegrin. I am a professional aerospace, aviation, and transportation consultant, academic researcher, university lecturer, IATA instructor, member of various industry boards, regular speaker at industry events, data scientist, and technologist. You can get in touch via the social links below, or browse my resume in the top right corner of this page.

As an industry consultant since 2000, I have advised governments, aircraft manufacturers, airlines, airports, civil aviation authorities, maintenance organizations, and air navigation service providers on turning their business strategy into safe, efficient, sustainable, and profitable operations. I have worked with clients in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania. I am presently a Partner leading Deloitte's transport, hospitality, and services consulting practice in Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Deloitte, I led the Asia consulting practice of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for six years, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)’s transport and logistics consulting practice in the Middle East also for six years. Before that I was a Principal in PRTM Management Consultants' aerospace and defense practice in Europe and the Middle East.

As an academic researcher, I graduated with a Ph.D. in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). My doctoral research focused on simulating the impacts of climate change on civil aircraft takeoff performance. Beyond this topic, I am interested in the reciprocal interplay between climate change and air transport, and the resulting decarbonization and adaptation measures necessary to ensure a sustainable future for air travel.

In my spare time, I am a private pilot and scuba instructor.
