Hi π I'm Thomas. I'm the gardener here.

## About me
I am originally from Monaco π²π¨ and currently reside in Singapore πΈπ¬ (respectively the 2nd and 20th smallest countries in the world). I have lived, studied, and worked in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and now Asia; and have been blessed with traveling to 50+ countries. I consider myself a global citizen.
Professionally, I have been an aerospace and aviation consultant since 2000. I am now a Partner at a Big Four firm, where I lead the aviation industry sector for Asia Pacific. [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomasdpellegrin/) has my academic and career history. Views expressed here are my own.
## About this website
**This is my digital garden** πΏ Here, I plant seedlings of thoughts (atomic ideas) that I consider worthy of cultivating. Some may wither and be pruned; others may bloom and extend their tendrils (hyperlinks, tags) as I fertilize them with elaboration. A few may pollinate and blossom into chimeras (meta ideas).
**This is where I learn in public** π Here, I collect ideas that sharpen my mental model of the world. I do this by applying the [[Plastic platypus learning|Feynman technique]] to self-learning. I revisit my notes regularly to avoid [[Forgetting curve|forgetting]]. I also use an [[Idea compass|idea compass]] to [[Typed link|type-link]] ideas with related concepts.
**Why I tend this digital garden** πͺ I am a [[Nexialism|nexialist]] who enjoys collecting and connecting ideas across seemingly unrelated disciplines to yield [[Emergence|emergent]] insights through [[poiesis]]. I also believe that consistent note-taking unburdens the mind's working memory for a less anxious exploration of the search space.
**What to find here** π An eclectic assortment of ideas (including a few of my own) that broadly map onto my interests in complexity, consciousness, dialectics, emergence, epistemology, mental models, ethics, mathematics, chaos theory, metaphysics, literature, and many more.
**Where to begin** πΊοΈ Use an index from the ==indices== folder to the left, or start from any note whose title speaks to you in the ==notes== folder, and then use the idea compass to move to the next. Let [[Serendipity|serendipity]] guide you as you forage, and remember that [[Not all those who wander are lost|not all those who wander are lost]].
